The Future
What challenges will we face?
The challenges facing the energy industry are, by now, well documented. Sustainability is rarely, if ever, out of the headlines. ‘Carbon neutral’ has entered the common vocabulary around the world. And resources continue to dwindle.
So, of course, new sources of energy need to be found. Each country will need to explore their own options. But equally, sooner or later, we will all need to share knowledge, experience and insight in order to press forward.
You will be uniquely placed to lead this collaboration.
What’s more, as part of our Finance teams, you will need to make sure that our customers benefit, every step of the way. Above all, you will need to make sure we adopt a balanced and intelligent financial approach, long-term.
All of this lies ahead – without even mentioning the number of projects and initiatives we’re involved in as a Group – the London 2012 Olympics is just one example. It’s fair to say that, if you’re looking for a low profile, uneventful career, you won’t find it here.
Where will you take your career?
At the end of five years, you will have gained experience that few of your peers could match. It’s likely that you will have visited many countries (including the UK) and explored many different cultures. You will also have gleaned insights that place you in a unique position within EDF Group.
This is a new scheme for us. One that places a good deal of pressure on your shoulders, and a great deal of potential on your plate. If you truly excel, you could go very, very far in the business.
